Last year, Mon Jin Lau, Troy, won with its Thai chicken with peanut sauce and rice noodles, paired with 1995 Etude pinot blanc ... Opus One, Detroit, took second for its seafood quenelles with lobster champagne sauce, paired with a 1995 Robert Mon- davi Napa Valley chardonnay Luigi's Downtown, Mount Clemens, was third with Luigi's lamb chops, paired with a 1993 Grgich Hills zinfandel. More than 800 guests attended each of the first two big shindigs ... Tickets are $75 general admission and $125 giving patrons evening-long admission to the VIP room with open bar, special hors d'oeuvres and table seating.
