LONNY GOLDSMITH Staff Writer BILL HANSEN Photographer I n front of a full house at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish Community Center last week- end, storyteller Corinne Stavish and a bunch of puppets put their own spin on o "Cinderella." , , The 200 parents and children who came for "Two Tales of Cinderella first heard Stavish's Jewish version, called "Shmutzie" (Yiddish for dirt). The story was followed by a puppet rendition of the classic story of the poor but beautiful:stepsister who finds love with a prince after her foot fits a glass slipper. PuppetArt, the West Bloomfield-based Russian- American puppet troupe, performed the show using classical music rather than words. "The marionettes made for a great show," said JPM Assistant Director Leslee Magidson. "It gave a real different experience. "We would have loved to have had more space to accommodate more people."
