decor "Preference" Cooktop edge of sacred scripture the responsi- bility of everyone, rather than of reli- gious leaders only. Each of us is com- manded to learn; learning leads to doing. In their book Teaching Mitzvot, Barbara Binder Kadden and Rabbi Bruce Kadden remind us that learn- ing leads to doing: "Talmud Torah was considered so significant ... (because) it would lead a person to observe other mitzvot. The rabbis of the Talmud considered the question: "Which is greater, study or practice?" Rabbi Tarfon answered that practice is greater. But Rabbi Akiba insisted that study is greater because it leads to practice. The majority agreed with Rabbi Akiba." (p. 87) Stated another way, the Mishnah tells us that "these are the things without measure ... honoring father and mother, acts of benevolence, making peace ... but the study of Torah is equal to them all (because it leads to them all)." (Peah 1:1) Studying our texts and our traditions makes us better human beings because our learning leads to our doing and our doing leads to a better world. ❑ ■ Commercial-Type cooking performance in a cooktop exclusively designed for residential use. ■ Unique grate design with graceful curves provide more useable surface area. ■ Grates form a continuous unbroken surface allowing easy sliding of cooking utensils. ■ Cooktop surface totally sealed for easy cleaning. ■ Available in a satin finish and porcelainized finishes of white, black, or almond. ■ 46" and 36" models available with dual fuel capability of gas burners and an electric cooking module interchangeable with barbecue/griddle/rotisserie accessories. ■ High output burners for complete range of cooking needs.
