Teen Kollel
This Summer
Yeshivas HaKayitz, the overnight camp
of Hebrew Theological College in
Skokie, Ill., is expanding its 1998 sum-
mer session with the addition of Teen
Kollel. The four-and-a-half week pro-
gram is designed for motivated high
school students, currently in grades 9-
10, who want to experience the intensi-
ty of Torah study in a Yeshiva setting
while enjoying a full spectrum of sum-
mertime fun, travel and friends.
The Teen Kollel is located on the
campus of the Theological College in
Skokie. Students live in the air-condi-
tioned dormitory. The camp grounds
include two softball fields, indoor and
outdoor basketball courts. Tennis
courts and swimming are located near-
by. Teen Kollel runs July 25 through
July 28. The cost for the entire pro-
gram is $850.

Youth Programs
Michigan Region B-)nai B'rith Youth
Organization will hold the annual
Senior Getaway Weekend from
Friday, Jan. 30 through Sunday, Feb.
1, at the BBYO Milan Conference
Center in Belle River, Ontario. The
coordinators of this conclave are Jason
Klein of Kishon AZA and Allison
Shepherd of Shira BBG. Programs
during the weekend will include a
workshop on "Drugs and Alcohol:
How to deal with it all in college,"
which will be led by Julie Goldman,
BBYO program supervisor; "Jewish
Life on Campus," led by David
Goldenberg, former AZA regional
president and a representative of MS
Hillel; and "Campus Safety," led by
Rochelle Katz BBYO community ser-
vice staff coordinator.
On Sunday, Feb. 1, Michigan
Region BBYO will hold its second
Jewish Heritage Night, "Am I My
Brother's Keeper?" There will be a pre-
sentation by the child of righteous gen-
tiles who saved Jewish lives during the
Holocaust. The program will be held
8:30 p.m. at the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center. Coordinators of
the program are Jeff Glogower and
Leslie Zack, regional Jewish heritage
chairs.
At a special AZA Council meeting
held in January, Willie Noveck of
Sammy AZA was elected AZA regional
reporter, filling an existing vacancy. He
will be responsible to create two issu
of the regional AZA newspaper. On
Tuesday, Feb. 3, AZA and BBG
Councils will hold monthly meetings,
7 p.m. at the Maple/Drake JCC.
