Landscape architect Elizabeth
McKenney will speak on "Healing
Gardens," 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8,
at Temple Emanu-El, sponsored by
the Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood.
There is a $3 per person charge,
payable at the door. For information,

On Monday, Feb. 9, Temple Israel
Sisterhood will tour the Henry Ford
Estate, meeting at Temple Israel at
9:30 a.m. and returning by 2 p.m.
The program fee is $20 for mem-
bers and $25 for guests. The price
includes travel, snacks and lunch at

Women Host
-Film Series

The Temple Beth El Sisterhood clas-
sic film series will continue 6:30
p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the temple
with the presentation of the 1990
Academy Award nominee for Best
Foreign Film, The Nasty Girl. The
film, a true story, recounts a young
German woman's courageous expo-
sure of her hometown's Nazi past and
the opposition she faces from fellow
townspeople as a consequence.
Speaking about the film and lead-
ing a discussion following the screen-
ing will be Poonam Arora, a teacher
of film studies at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn.
There is no charge for the pro-
gram which is funded by the Meyer
and Anna Prentis Family
Foundation.
