Mrs. Cohen was a Detroit public school psycholo- gist. She was a 1960 graduate of Wayne State University and received a specialist degree in 1970 as well as a. masters degree from the University of Texas in 1964. Mrs. Cohen was instrumental in establishing a mediat- ed learning program in Detroit public schools and in 1991 received "Outstanding Mediator Award" from the office of Special Education. For 15 years, she was a religious school teacher at Temple Israel, a former board member of the National Council of Jewish Women and a past board member of JARC. Mrs. Cohen is survived by her hus- band, Norton Cohen; daughter, Rabbi Debrah Cohen of Ann Arbor; son, Sander Cohen of Keego Harbor; sis- ters and brothers-in-law, Denali S. Bookstein and David Berman of Berkeley, Calif, Rosabell and Harold Bernstein; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Florence Schuman. She was the loving daughter of the late Fred and Anna Schuman and the dear sister of the late Herman Schuman. Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial Park.
