Jennifer (Friedman), formerly of
West Bloomfield, and Joseph Cohen
of New York are thrilled to
announce the birth of their daugh-
ter, Samantha Taylor. Proud grand-
parents are Jill Young of Baltimore,
Gerald Friedman of Dallas and Irene
and Stuart Cohen of New York. Very
,excited great-grandparents are
Mignon and Eugene Kraft of
Bloomfield Hills and Helen
Friedman of West Bloomfield.
Samantha was given the Hebrew
name Svia, after her great-great-
grandfather Harry Kraft. She also is
named after her great-grandmother
Myldrid Cohen.

loving memory of his paternal

Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

Alana Kuhn
Alana Beth Kuhn will be called to
the torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Jan. 24,
at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
B'nai Israel
Center. Alana is
the daughter of
2oraine and
Mark Kuhn and
the sister of
Daniel. She is the
granddaughter of
Serena and the late Louis Weiss, and
Alex and Dorothy Kuhn. Alana's par-
ents, brother, grandparents and



cousins will participate in the ser-
vice.
As a mitzvah project, Alana has
requested that the guests at her party
bring a stuffed animal to be donated
to children's charities. Alana also
participates in projects through
Hillel Day School, including visiting
with residents of JARC and senior
citizen residences.
Alana is an honor student at
Hillel Day School, where she is in
the seventh grade. She participates
on the cross country track team, the
media crew and the sound and light
crew. Her interests include reading,
skiing and computers.

Laura Mazor
Aaron James Mazor and Laura
Danielle Mazor will be called to the
Torah as b'nai
mitzvah on
Frida y , Jan. 30,
at Temple Israel.
They are the
children of Sue
Ellen Eisenberg
and Leonard
/vlazor, siblings
of Anthony and
grandchildren of
Isabelle and
Erwin Mazor and
Anne Eisenberg
and the late Sol
Eisenberg. Both
children attend
Roeper.
Aaron's inter-
ests include
skateboarding,
snowboarding, soccer and waterski-
ing. Among his mitzvah projects, he
worked with the baby sitters during
Temple services.
Laura enjoys volleyball, basketball
and tennis. Mitzvah projects includ-
ed collecting and donating toys to
underprivileged children.
