ere is nothing quite so wonder-
ful for former campers (and
insufferable for those who
weren't there) as waxing nostalgic
about the good old days.
There was that afternoon you and
your pals made a good 55 choco-
late-chip cookies, then proceeded to
eat the entire batch; the time when
somebody swore he saw Big Foot
roaming the woods behind your
cabin and produced a photo that
really showed something big, dark
and hulking, not so unlike the big
guy; the evening when He, none
other than Bob Goldberg, simply the
cutest boy on the face of the entire
planet, wrote a note telling you he
thought you did a great job in the
camp play.

If you take a few minutes to pre-
pare, you can help your child make
these memories almost come alive
again one day (well, maybe you
wouldn't want to get too close that
Big Foot thing). The key is to collect
those treasures that can easily be
relived, then know how to preserve

them.

Witness the popular trend for vanilla
perfumes, lotions and candles; vanilla
is said to be a familiar fragrance to
almost everyone, which, naturally,
recalls baked goods and cooking,
which tends to bring pleasant child-
hood images to mind.
As you pack your daughter's
belongings for camp, stick in a fra-
grance packet or two with a distinct
aroma. Then write it down, so you
don't forget. Years later, she will be
