To further appreciate the Star
Southfield Entertainment Centre, one
must go too the Hollywood Theatre in
Naples that is owned by Regal
Cinemas.
Both have 20 screens ... But that's
where the similarity stops.
No scenery in the lobby.... Just a
plain in and outer ... And you buy
your seats on the outside ... not inside
as at Star where folks can also look
around the wondrous surroundings of
movietown yesterday and today.
Getting back to Frankie Paul ... I
still can't believe he also plays the
piano. ... But to me and just about
everybody else who knows him, he's
still one of the best accordionist enter-
tainers guys and gals have had the
pleasure of hearing throughout the
years.
NEWEST RESTAURANT being
opened by Matt Prentice and his
Unique Restaurant Corporation —
Flying Fish Tavern, on the site of the
former Memphis Smoke of West
Bloomfield, Orchard Lake Road and
Maple — is slated hopefully for
February or early March.
It will seat 140, and for those won-
dering about parking there's plenty in
the back.
MOST GOLFERS wait a lifetime
and never see even the bare semblance
of a hole-in-one ... Former Detroiter
Harold "Hutch" Bobroff in Aventura,
Fla., got a big scream five years ago
after hitting age 70 ... Now, at 75,
Hutch let out another yell recently on
the 120-yard, par three 17th hole at
Turnberry Country Club, South
Course.
PLUS LOWERING prices on
many items, West Side Grill,
Farmington Road just north of Maple,
now has both full and half orders for
the first time ... Many folks watching
their intake of food are happy for the
half orders from $4.95 ... Also a first is
the special dinner menu with full
orders like veal parmesan, $6.25;
chicken parmesan, $5.75, etc. ... The
gourmet-style type of food preparation
has been winning friends.
HE ALWAYS did love cars since a
small lad, so it was almost certain that
auto dealer Mary Tamaroff should
have a collection of classic automo-
biles that ranks among the finest ...
Also his amassing of hood ornaments
from around the world.
It seemed quite inevitable too that
Mary would open his latest venture,
Tamaroff Classic Vehicles, on
Telegraph south of 12 Mile.
