f you are looking for some ideas
because you are feeling travel
challenged, consider some of the
following.
Free copies of a color-packed 110-
page booklet called "The Jewish Trav-
eller Guide to Mexico" is available
from the Mexican Government
Tourism office, 405 Park Ave., New
York, NY 10022. The booklet tells
about Jewish history, the Mexican
Jewish community today, where to get
more information, synagogues in
many cities, kosher restaurants and
lots about shops.
El Al Israel Airlines is offering low-
priced packages to Israel through Feb.
22. One can also book extensions to
Eilat, Jordan and London. The airline
just announced smoke-free flights
from Newark to Tel Aviv via London.
There are three of these flights a
week.
A new Internet Web site specifically
designed to help Americans and Cana-
dians with travel plans to Israel is now
operational. The site, with graphics
and sound, is accessed at www.gois-
rael.com . You can go from this site to
www.infotour.co.il and get informa-
tion on hotels, attractions and tourist
facilities. If you are still saving up for a
computer, you can get current infor-
mation on the land of milk and honey
by calling toll free 1-888-77-ISRAEL.
The Holocaust Museum in Wash-
ington, D.C., has a new temporary
exhibit of 500 objects and images
from the Kovno Ghetto in Lithuania.
The exhibit features photos, draw-
ings, diaries and other items describ-
ing the life of residents from 1941-
1944. The show runs through Octo-
ber 1999.
A 300-year-old mikvah (ritual bath)
discovered in 1970 in the courtyard of
Curacao's Mikve Israel Synagogue has
been fully restored and is open to the
public. The synagogue itself is a major
tourist attraction for cruise passengers
in Willenstad.

you to Kenya, India, Antarctica,
China, Japan, Hong Kong, Hungary
and Transylvania. Rabbis serve as tour
