ELLEN BALLIN, 83, of Ann Arbor,
died Dec. 23.
Ms. Bailin is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Nino and Marsha
Green of Escanaba, Paul and Betty
Green of Rochester, Philip and
Christine Green of Ann Arbor; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Betty Schwartz and
Philip Rosewarne of Ann Arbor; 10
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
sister, Regina Biederman; Jack Ballin.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Manning Green.

IRVING BELINSKY, 90, of San
Diego, formerly of Detroit, died Dec.
27. Prior to retirement, Mr. Belinsky
was a pharmacist for 50 years, the
owner of Wrigley Drugs in Detroit and
a chain of movie theaters. He was past
president of Congregation B'nai David
Synagogue, where he was named Man
of the Year for Israel Bonds. He was also
a past president of Cooperative
Theatres, past president of Aescalapian
Pharmaceutical Association and a past
chief barker of the Variety Club of
Detroit.
He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Arnold and Esther
Belinsky, Fred and Tina Belinsky;
daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and
Edward Pollak, Brenda and Neil Zales;
grandchildren, Larry, Craig, Zachary,
Alex Belinsky, Sheila Weinstock, Laura
Maio, Jeff Pollak, Hilary and Bruce
Zales; great-grandchildren, Jordan,
Daryn, Andrew and Nicole Belinsky,
Danielle and Molly Stephens, Natanya
and Justin Maio, Samantha and Isidor
Pollak; sisters, Rose Bricker and Sarah
Kramer. He was the beloved husband of
the late Lily Blanche and the late Lily
Ruth Belinsky.
Interment in San Diego.

ALEXANDER BETZ, 81, of Sunlakes,
Ariz., died Dec. 21. Mr. Betz was an
attorney and past magistrate of the 36th
District Court of Detroit. During
World War II, he was an internal rev-
enue agent. Mr. Betz was a former attor-
ney of the Michigan PGA, a 32nd
Degree Mason, a past chancellor of
Mosaic Lodge F & AM, former chan-
cellor of Crescent Shriners, a past chan-
cellor of the Knights of Pythias and a
past president of Tau Epsilon Rho (Law
Society). Because of his involvement in
the PGA, he was mentioned many
times in Dave Berry's sports column. He
could play his age in golf (81) and won
numerous duplicate bridge trophies.
Mr. Betz is survived by his wife,
Beverly Betz; daughters and sons-in-law,
Ellen and Jeffrey Jacobs of Farmington
Hills, Anita and Larry Moony of
Overland Park, Kan.; grandchildren,
Josh and Jodi Jacobs, Michael and
Aimee Waldman, Josh and Jackie
Burton; great-granddaughter, Arielle
Burton.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

LORRAINE SYBIL (BUSH)
COLISH, 70, of Flint, died Dec. 20.
She was a member of Congregation
Beth Israel and a life member of
Hadassah. She was a volunteer for
Hospice and the Miami Heart Institute.
She also co-owned and operated
Manny's Peoples Furniture and
Appliance Co.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie
Colish of Flint; son, Jerrie Colish of
Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Shira,
Jaime, Yossi, Max and Mandy; sisters-
in-law, Miriam Bush and Rose
Richelson. She was the beloved wife of
the late Mannie Colish; dear sister of
the late Colonel Sidney A. Bush.
Graveside services were held at
Machpelah Cemetery in Flint.

NATHAN COOPER, 84, of
Southfield, died Dec. 15. Mr. Cooper
was a sales consultant for J.L. Hudsons.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his nieces,
Leah Chodes and Sandra Schwartz
Cosentino; great-nieces and great-
nephews. He was the beloved brother of
the late Ida Cooper Schwartz.
Interment at Beth Abraham

LOUIS DZODIN, 80, formerly of Oak
Park of Aventura, Fla., died Dec. 23.

Dzodin; daughter Beth Laraine Dzodin
and fiance, Nathan Fuchs; grandchil-

ARCHIE FABIAN, 85, of Oak Park,
died Dec. 25. Mr. Fabian was a parking
lot executive. He was a first lieutenant
and a medical supply officer during
World War II and received a Victory
Medal, American Campaign Service
Medal and a European African Middle
Eastern Service Medal.
He is survived by his daughter and
son-in-law, Marsha and Jeremy Cantor
of Venicia, Calif.; son, David Fabian;
grandchildren, Noah and Toby Cantor;
brother, Philip Fabian of Oak Park. For
56 years, he was the beloved husband of
the late Rachel Fabian.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
