Shir Shalom
Speakers, Classes
Temple Shir Shalom will host Harriet
Shiff 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9. Ms. Shiff
will speak about aging parents and cop-
ing with the challenges associated with
them. An adult Shabbat dinner is
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the social
hall; $17.51 per adult. Reservations can
be made through Temple Shir Shalom

The Temple Shir Shalom Sisterhood
will host Cheryl Chodun 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 13. Ms. Chodun will
speak on news reporting at the sister-
hood monthly meeting and she will
answer questions about breaking news
stories and how they are covered.

Temple Shir Shalom's monthly chil-
dren's Shabbat service will be Saturday,
Jan. 17. Songs, puppets, stories, snack
and a special Shabbat service are geared
toward children ages 1-8. Ma'at
Shabbat (little Shabbat) will feature the
talents of Helayne Shaw. Registration is
not mandatory, but it is appreciated. To

Temple Shir Shalom Adult
Education Classes will begin in
January. The schedule is as follows:
Introduction to Judaism, Wedneklays,
7-8 p.m. Class runs Jan. 14, 21, 28 and
Feb. 4, 11, and 25. Instructors, Rabbi
Michael Moskowitz and Rabbi Dannel
Schwartz. Tuition $50, and $50 book
fee. Class is a beginner's guide to
Judaism, a basic overview of history,
holidays, festivals, life cycle events.
Hands-On Judaism, Wednesdays, 8-
9 p.m. Class runs Jan. 14, 21, 28 and
Feb. 4, 11 and 25. Instructor Judi
Simon. Tuition $45. How-to of being
Jewish.
Prayer Hebrew, Wednesdays, 8-9
p.m. Class runs Jan. 14, 21, 28 and
