On a completely different note,
Columbia/Tri-Star Home Video has
put together a delightfully packaged
edition of Ang Lee's adaptation of Jane
Austen's Sense and Sensibility. Corn-
plete with the annotated book of the
screenplay, the package makes the per-
fect gift for fans of the story. If Austen
is their cup of tea, the box set of the
six-part Pride and Prejudice gives them
all they could want. If they need more,
they may also enjoy Emily Bronte's
eight-part Jane Eyre.
A unique video package is Polygram's
The Usual Suspects. The film was a criti-
cal hit and has found a cult following.
Fans can now get the gift set, which has
the wide-screen version of the film on
one tape, plus a second tape featuring
the director's and writer's commentary
as the film plays.
Classic Hollywood fare always
makes a good gift. Columbia/Tri-Star
have put together a collector's gift set
of Frank Capra's Columbia films,
including the classic Lost Horizon.
