The Do-It-Yourself Dreidel Mobile
kit, made in Israel, contains five pre-
cut dreidels to color, three curved sup-
ports, thread, and complete- assembly
instructions. Children color the drei-
dels, thread them, and hang them on
the supports as a Chanukah decora-
tion.
A Chanukah Window Decoration
kit has four two-sided, pre-cut
Chanukah silhouettes and cellophane
in assorted colors, to create colorful
window decorations with the unique
effect of stained glass. This is accom-
plished by gluing a piece of the cello-
phane to the white side of the silhou-
ette and then attaching the back of the
identical picture.
The Jewish Plaster Casting kit is for
children ages five and up. There are
twelve reusable molds ranging from
dreidels to kiddush cups. Just add
water to the plaster mix, and put the
mixture into the mold to set.
In addition to this variety of arts
and crafts projects, there are several
Chanukah puzzles, activity books, and
packages of stickers to use creatively
for holiday decorations, learning, and
greeting cards. A child's imagination
can take some of the kits to unexpect-
ed levels.
Based on a video, Simon &
Schuster, in its Little Simon/
Nickelodeon series, has just released a
wonderfully bright paperback book,
The Rugrats' Book of Chanukah by
Sarah Wilson, illustrated by Barry
Goldberg. A Chubby Board book,
also from Simon & Schuster, tells
how a family celebrates Chanukah.
The book comes with two wooden
dreidels.

gogues, Jewish museums and JCCs, or
through Judaica catalogs, the innova-
tive crafts will put a new spin on this
joyful and meaningful Jewish holiday.
