A photo of Israel taken anytime since
independence will be accepted for the
Israel at 50 Community Photo Exhibit
until Dec. 31. Late submissions will
be accepted at the discretion of the
program committee.
Submit a color or black and white
photo in an 8" x 10" enlargement,
landscape or portrait orientation,
already matted in a clean, black or
white, 2" mat. Include a typewritten,
3" x 5" index card giving the date,
place, and subject of the photo, pho-
tographer's name, age (or designate
"adult") and city of residence. If the
photo was taken on a synagogue or
community mission trip, give the
name of the mission.
Send or hand deliver the photo in
an envelope, between two pieces of
stiff cardboard, to Beth Greenapple,

The fifth annual Penny Harvest will
conclude at the Tzedakah Experience
9:40-1:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at
Temple Beth El. The Penny Harvest
encourages fifth-grade religious school
students to collect and recycle pennies
to be donated to local Jewish agencies.
Penny donations may be dropped
off at religious schools or at the
Tzedakah Experience at Temple Beth
El, or they may be given to fifth-grade
students who attend Jewish congrega-
tional and day schools.

Cantor Sings
For Kadima
The annual Chanukah celebration for
Kadima clients is planned for 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Agency for
Jewish Education. The program will
be a musical presentation by Cantor
Stephen Dubov and the adult choir of
Temple Beth El. Young people of
AJE's Teens for Tikkun Olam program
will help with the activities.
Zager/Stone/Tucker/Grant B'nai
B'rith Unit will prepare Chanukah gift
bags for all the Kadima clients. The
David Horodoker Organization Jewish
Holiday Fund will provide for a
Chanukah dinner.

Welcome All
The Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center will host
Chanukah bingo 12:30 p.m. Monday,
Dec. 22. Chanukah-related prizes will
be given and refreshments will be
served. There is a charge.
Fabs Kaldobsky will lead a discus-
sion of world-famous composers and
their music 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23,
at the JPM. Refreshments will be
served. There is no charge.
The film A Laughter, A Tear, A
Mitzvah will be shown 1 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 25. There is no
charge.
Socials are held every Wednesday at
1 p.m. Music is provided by local
entertainers singing a variety of songs
including Yiddish.
Woodcarving meets Mondays
through Fridays at 9 a.m. New mem-
bers are welcome. Supplies are includ-
ed in the beginning. There is no
charge. •
Shir Shalom
Winter Events
Temple Shir Shalom will host its
annual Chanukah Family Dinner 6:30
p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the temple.
Shabbat services will follow at 7:30
p.m. with performances by the youth
choir.
Dinner is $9.27 per adult and
$5.67 per child aged 5-12. Children
under 5 are free of charge. For infor-
mation or to reserve a place, call the
temple office (248) 737-8700.
Temple Shir Shalom will hold an
early — come-as-you-are service 6:30
p.m. Friday, Dec. 26. Shir Shalom
Shabbat Camp will take place during
this service for children ages 3-8.
Children under 3 are welcome provid-
ed they have a parent with them.
Children over 8 are welcome at ser-
vices. The usual 8 p.m. service will notrj
take place this evening. For informa-
tion or to reserve a child's place at
camp, contact the temple office.
