their children are invited to
"Celebrate the Miracle," a Chanukah
program of the Institute for Singer
Jewish Mothers (ISJM) 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Agency for
Jewish Education. The evening will
include a dairylatke dinner, lighting
of the menorah and a magic show by
Baffling Bill.
The cost is $3 per child and $5
per adult. Subsidies are available.

Israel is turning 50, and the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit
has created a calendar of community
celebrations geared toward a variety
of interests.
The multicolored, 25 x 11 inch
calendar will be available at area
congregations, agencies and book-
stores in mid-December. It lists
lectures and discussion groups,
family and community programs,
musical and dance events, exhibits
and film and holiday programs and
services.
