The Jewish Community Center,
Maple/Drake and Jimmy Prentis
Morris locations are gearing up
for winter vacation. Parents and chil-
dren may benefit from the program-
ming available during winter
break.
The Maple/Drake JCC campus will
offer a variety of camps for the
December break including Preschool
Play Days (2 1/2-4 years) and Winter
Days (K-4th grades). Both programs
include choices of activities ranging
from swimming, arts and crafts,
sports, special guests and entertain-
ment.
The JCC also offers a travel camp
for 3rd-6th graders, karate camp, as --'
well as two new camps including Art
Chagall (3rd-6th grades) and Sports
Variety (K-4th grades).
The JPM branch of the JCC will
offer two camps: Winter Days (K-4th
grades) and Basketball Camp (6-12
years).
Break days begin at 9 a.m. and fin-
ish at 3:30 p.m., with before and
aftercare available at an additional
cost.

Are Discussed
"Images of Jews in Popular Culture,"
an eight-part Latte and Learning study
group led by Rabbi Aaron Bergman
and sponsored by the "Eilu v' Eilu"
adult Jewish education consortium, is
offered 10-11 a.m. Monday mornings
at Borders Books and Music, 30995
Orchard Lake Road, Farmington
Hills.
The group will meet Dec. 15, fol-
lowed by a two-week break (no session
on Dec. 22 and 29), and then will
resume on Jan. 5 and continue
through Feb. 2. The series discusses
Jewish stereotypes in contemporary
culture.
The fee is $5 per session for mem-
bers of the sponsoring organizations,
$7 per session for others.
Torah-Hafiorah
Link Studied
Community educator Aviva Silverman
will conclude her current adult Jewish
learning series, "Sacred Connections:
Finding the Link Between the Weekly
Torah Portion and Haftorah," with a
study session 7:30 - 9 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Hillel Day
School.
All adult learners are welcome.
Tuition is $10 ($8 for members of
the sponsoring organization). No
knowledge of Hebrew is required,
and students may register at the
door.
