The SonyCM-RX100, selling for
under $500, is about the size of a deck
of cards and weighs just over a half-
pound. To answer or start a call, a tiny
microphone arm flips out giving you
that futuristic feel. The phone can
store up to 99 numbers for speed dial-
ing and it lets you spin through the
phone's features so you don't have to
ow flip through the owner's manual. It's
rated to give you 90 minutes of talk
time and a standby time of about 24
hours. Mcitorola's ultra small StarTac
remains the ultimate status symbol.It
costs between $1,000 and $2,000 and
gives four hours of talk time and 47
hours of standby mode.
The less expensive StarTac 6000
weighs a bit more but costs consider-
ably less — about $500.
