senior citizens at Fleischman
Residence and the Halsted Place,
as well as babysitting with younger
children during High Holy Day ser-
vices at Temple Israel, were impor-
tant parts of his mitzvah projects.
Jon is a student at Warner Middle
School and has varied interests:
reading, science and animals,
rollerblading, golf, skiing and base-
ball.
Jonathan Schey
Jonathan Schey of Farmington Hills
will celebrate his bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 29, at Adat Shalom
°Synagogue. He is the son of Sheri
Schey and Robert Schey and the
brother of Jamie Schey. He also is
the grandson of Loralei and Sanford
Levine, Harvey and Susie Fallen,
and the late
Florence and Jack
Schey. He is the
3 great-grandson of
Rhea Bass and
the late George
Bass.
Jonathan made
contributions to Yad Ezra and JARC
for his mitzvah project. He is an
honor student at Warner Middle
6 School who enjoys sports and
spending time with friends.
Bryan Diem
Bryan Diem will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah at
Havdalah services on Saturday,
Nov. 29, at
OTemple Israel. He
is the son of
Donna and Jerry
Diem, brother of
Joshua and
grandchild of
Marian Rich. He
also is the grandson of the late
George Rich and the late Ida and
Irving Diem.
His most meaningful mitzvah pro-
ject was to donate to Camp
Simcha, where children with cancer
can enjoy a camp experience.
Bryan is a student at Norup Middle
School and enjoys softball, card
games and reading.
Daniel Mickelson
Daniel Eric Mickelson will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel on Friday, Nov. 28.
He is the son of
Linda and Dr.lra
Mickelson, brother
of Sarah and
Adam and grand-
son of Betty
Rowe, Thelma
Mickelson and
Bernard Mazur.
He also is the grandchild of the late
Harry Mickelson and the late Fred
Rowe.
Mitzvah projects included collect-
ing used sports equipment and
donations to AIDS research. A stu-
dent at West Hills Middle School,
Dan enjoys baseball, basketball,
football, soccer, biking, diving and
tennis.
Jessica Katz
Jessica Rachel Katz will become a
bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 29,
at Congregation Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses. Jessica is the daughter
of Diana and Joel Katz and the sis-
ter of Marni and
Daniel. She also
is the grand-
daughter of Jean
Katz and the late
Albert Katz and
the late Alice and
Max Fine.
Jessica is an honor student at
Warner Middle School. She is in
the seventh-grade concert band and
is on the basketball team. As her
mitzvah project, she made food
baskets for Yad Ezra.
