Bryan Robbins
Bryan Matthew Robbins will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Nov. 29, at Adat
Shalom
Synagogue.
Bryan is the son
of Sandra and
Michael Robbins
and the brother of
Lauren. He is the grandson of
Marge and Jerry Robbins, Sheila
Forman and the late beloved Leon
Forman. His proud great-grandpar-
ents are Irvin and Katie Forman.
Bryan is an honor student at Hillel
Day School. He loves sports and
actively participates in hockey,
baseball, tennis and golf.
Andy Slyker
Andrew Lev Slyker will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah at
Congregation Shir Tikvah on
Saturday, Nov. 29. He will lead
the service in conjunction with
Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg. Other par-
ticipants will be extended family
members from around the globe.
Andy is the son of Lou and Joan
Slyker and the grandson of Stanley
and Miriam Friedman. He is a sev-
enth-grade student at the Roeper
School and in the Shir Tikvah Family
Education Program. At school, Andy
plays trumpet in the band and is on
the basketball and baseball teams.
He also is on a community football
team. Andy's other
interests include
photography,
camping, fishing
and boating.
For the past
year, Andy has
been a volunteer
in the Blumberg
Home, a JARC residence in
Pleasant Ridge. He will be donating
a percentage of his bar mitzvah
gifts to JARC.
Liza Shiffman
Liza Renee Shiffman will celebrate
her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Nov. 29. She is the
daughter of Marla and Irving
Shiffman, sister of Jared and grand-
child of Sheila and Sol Garber and
Ralph Shiffman and the late Natalie
Shiffman.
Mitzvah projects
include tutoring
younger students
in the Temple
Israel Media
Center. An honor
student at
Berkshire Middle
School, Liza is
interested in dancing, playing the
viola, arts and crafts, soccer and
the computer.
Jonathan Bogorad
Jonathan Bogorad will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 29, at Temple Shir
Shalom. He is the
son of Anita
Bogorad and
Steven Bogorad.
Jon is the grand-
son of Sylvia
Glantz and the
late Zolton
Glantz; Esther Bogorad and the lat69'
Joseph Bogorad.
In preparation for his bar mitzvah,
Jon provided service for Meals on
Wheels. He was able to assist his
grandmother Esther Bogorad in pro-
viding numerous services to the -
Oak Park Community Center
Seniors' Program. In addition, Jon
assisted the Focus Hope organiza-
tion in providing food to shut-ins.
Jon is a student at Dunckel Middle
School and enjoys playing basket-
ball and football. In addition, he
plays the saxophone in the school
band and sings in the school choir.
Jonathan Walkon
Jonathan Scott Walkon will observe
his bar mitzvah on Friday, Nov. 28,
at Temple Israel. He is the son of
Karen and Clifford Walkon and
brother of Allison and Heidi. Proud
