In operation for 120 years, MHS operates three full- service shelters and clinics in Detroit, Westland and Rochester Hills which care for 52,000 homeless, injured and abandoned animals each year. The private, non-profit organization currently needs volunteers to provide direct animal care in the shelters, foster care for animals not yet able to be adopted, clerical support and help at special events.
