Zedek's main sanctuary as
Rabbi Irwin Groner prepares to take
the bimah. In a few moments, a large
group of people, decked out in their
High Holiday finery, find their seats.
It could be Rosh Hashanah or
Yom Kippur.
Except for the large screens and
bright lights on the bimah. And the
movie camera tracking on a dolly.

The scenario was the set of All of
It, an independent film written and
directed by Jody Podolsky and co-
produced with Darren Gold. Both
are natives of Bloomfield Hills.
The movie marks many firsts.
For one, a film has never been shot
in Shaarey Zedek before, said
Leonard Baruch, executive director of
the Southfield shul. "Not since Moses
left the desert has there been a film
shot here," Baruch said, noting that
the Podolsky family's congregational
membership and the Jewish content
of the film weighed in the approval
for the shoot.
