My Mother's Courage

U-M Hillel, with U-M's Program in Film and Video Studies, presents the
Midwest premiere of My Mother's Courage. Written by George Tabori first as a
play, then as a novel, the film version has been adapted by German director
Michael Verhoeven (The White Rose). It tells of one phenomenal day in 1944 in
the life of Tabori's mother, a Budapest Jew, and her encounter that day with
German forces. Verhoeven incredibly weaves humor into a frightening sea of
fate. The director will lead a question-and-answer session after the film. The
