Brandon Webster
Brandon Dale Ross Webster
observed his bar mitzvah at Temple
Israel on Saturday, Nov. 8. He is
the son of Terry Webster and Bryan
Webster, brother of Crystal and
grandchild of Diane and Harvey

Carlene and Herb
Maier.
Mitzvah projects
included helping
at Temple Israel's
annual Labor Day
picnic. Attending
Walled Lake Middle School,
'Brandon is interested in football,
rollerblading, hockey and basketball.

Rachel Furman
Rachel Furman, daughter of Jim and
Linda Furman, brother of Nathan,
granddaughter of Sharon and the
late Benjamin Tapper, Sylvia and
tithe late Seymour Furman, and
great-granddaughter of Bertha and
Morris Fink, will become bat mitz-
vah on Saturday morning, Nov.
15, at Temple Kol Ami.
Rachel is an honor roll student in
the eighth grade at Abbott Middle

School in West Bloomfield. She
enjoys math, science, computers,
performing arts
and she is very
involved in dance.
For her mitzvah
projects, Rachel
gave some cleri-
cal assistance to
a governmental
office; she made
a Purim visit to the Franklin Club
Apartments; she volunteered time
with a Girl Scout troop; she assist-
ed the D.A.R.E. officer to teach kids
not to use drugs; and she helped at
various West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation activities.

Karli Gartrell
Karli Lauren Gartrell will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Friday, Nov. 14, at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter of Marla and
James Gartrell, sister of Jason and
Heather and
grandchild of
Gloria and
Herbert Woolman
and Marie
Gartrell and the
late Harold
Gartrell. Her
proud great-grandmother is Pearl
Gittleman.
Among her mitzvah projects, she
collected contributions for the
American Diabetes Association and
worked in the Temple Israel Nursery
School. Karli attends Orchard Lake
Middle School and her hobbies
include arts and crafts, skiing and
dance.
