Dustin Hoffman, one of
the greatest film actors
of his generation, it
quickly becomes clear that he loves to
communicate. Largely self-educated,
he pours himself into his research for
every role, and is only too glad to
share what he has learned.
In a recent meeting in Beverly
Hills, the main subject was his new
movie, Mad City, in which Hoffman
plays a TV reporter
who just happens to be
in a museum when
recently fired security
guard John Travolta
takes a class of school-
children hostage.
