The Kenny Foundation and Park West Gallery present "Art in the Afternoon," an auction of fine art to commemorate the life of the late Sondra Berlin. The event will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Parthenon House in West Bloomfield. "Sandy found great pleasure in art and was an avid collector," explains Sue Burstein, executive director of Kenny Foundation. "We believe that this art auction captures the essence of what Sandy was, both an advocate for people with disabilities and a person who loved the beauty of what sur- rounded her." JEWISH WOMEN INTERNATIONAL The special gifts luncheon for Jewish Women International (JWI) was recently held at B'nai Moshe. The luncheon honored the late Sylvia P. Ross. More than 150 patrons attended the event. Charlotte Edelheit was the luncheon chairman, while Esther Applebaum gave the invocation. Cantor Stephen Dubov of Temple Beth El entertained the guests with a musical tribute. Randee Lefkow, pres- ident-elect of JWI, was the guest speaker. Lucille Gersten and Ida Nathan helped present the memorial tribute to sons Bradley and Michael Ross. NOTES Lynn Portnoy, a woman's specialty store, has moved to the Claymoor Apartments in Southfield.
