two public events Sunday, Nov. 9.
A Jewish book fair and gift shop
will be from 1-3 p.m. At 7 p.m. there
will be a memorial service to recognize
the anniversary of Krystalnacht, the
night of broken glass.

At Kol Ami

The Adult Choir of Temple Beth
Emeth and Zamir Chorale of
Metropolitan Detroit will present
"Shomeir Ysrael - The Guardian of
Israel," a setting of the Sacred Service
for Sabbath evening by Toronto-based
composer Ben Steinberg, 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 23, at Temple Kol Ami.
Ann Arbor resident Ben Cohen,
music director of the Zamir Chorale,
will conduct the performance, featur-
ing Annie Rose in the solo cantorial
role and chamber orchestra. Tickets
are available at the door and by calling
the Chorale, (248) 559-9888.

The normal deadline for local news
and publicity items is noon
Thursday, eight days prior to issue
date. The deadline for birth
announcements is 10 a.m. Monday,
four days prior to issue date; out-
of-town obituaries, 10 a.m.
Tuesday, three days prior to issue
date.
All material must be typewritten,
double-spaced, on 81/2 x 11 paper
and include the name and daytime
telephone number of sender.
