donor dinner to benefit the Children's
Home, 6:30 p.m: Tuesday, Nov. 11 at
the home of Rochelle Solomon,
Farmington Hills.
The guest speaker for the event,
Detroit News columnist Laura Berman,
will reveal behind-the-scenes prepara-
tions and interviews about people and
events in the news.
The $25 admission charge includes
dinner and two Children's Home

host the November "Birthday Party"
for residents 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
11, at the Jewish Federation of
Apartments in Oak Park.
These monthly parties for the resi-
dents include refreshments and enter-
tainment.

Film Series

Film classics will be on view and
under discussion this year as the
Temple Beth El Sisterhood hosts a
three-part series with guest lecturer
Elliot Wilhelm, curator of film and
director of the film series at the
Detroit Film Theatre, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 16, at Temple Beth El.
The first film will be "The Great
Dictator," starring Charlie Chaplin.
There is no charge for the
evening. Proceeds from sales of
munchies will benefit Temple youth
activities.
