A 'Community Give Tzedakah For Chanukah A new kind of Chanukah gift-giving — "Simply Tzedakah: Kids Helping Kids" — will be introduced by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit to link children and their fami- lies to Jewish people around the world. Instead of a Chanukah gift on one night of the holiday, parents, grandpar- ents, aunts, uncles and friends are encouraged to make a minimum $18 gift to the 1998 Allied Jewish Campaign in each child's name. Campaign gifts benefit many programs and services relating to children, in addition to helping older adults, peo- ple with disabilities, new Americans, refugees and others. Children honored by the contribu- tion will receive a personalized certifi- cate and a small gift from Federation. Contributions of $18 or more will be published in a special Israel 50th anniversary scroll of honor at the close of the 1998 Campaign. Chairing the project are Stacey Crane and Anita Naftaly. Deadline for sending names and checks to Simply Tzedakah is December 5th. Checks should be made payable to the Allied Jewish Campaign and mailed with every child's name and address and the donor's name and address to: Tanya Mazor-Posner, Jewish Federation of • Metropolitan Detroit, P.O.
