on Reform Judaism,
Nov. 14-15, at
Rabbi Jacob
Temple Beth El.
Rabbi Jacob represents the 18th
generation of rabbis in his family. He
has been rabbi of Rodef Shalom
Congregation since 1955. He is a con-
tributor to four encyclopedias and the
author, editor, or translator of 18
books.
Rabbi Jacob is president of the
Institute for Progressive Halakhah and
past president of the Central
Conference of American Rabbis and
current chair of the Publications.

On Friday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m., Dr.
Jacob will speak on the "Rebirth of
German Jewry;" on Saturday, Nov. 15,
at 9:15 a.m., he will address a Torah
convocation on "A New Look at Old
Stories" and at 10:30 a.m., he will
speak to the congregation on "What
Can Reform Halakhah Do For Us?"
The Hertz Institute is open to the
L-) community without charge; reserva-
tions are not necessary.

Detroit and the Wayne State Alumni
Association. He supports the United
Jewish Appeal, Bar-Ilan University and
the Holocaust Memorial Center.
Through the Jewish National Fund, a
grove of trees was planted in Israel in
honor of his 60th birthday by his wife
Jackie, his sons and daughters-in-law.

Sisterhood Hosts
Audrey Citak

The Adat Shalom Synagogue
Sisterhood will welcome Audrey
Citak, past president of the Women's
League for Conservative Judaism, as
its special guest at two sisterhood
programs this month.
Ms. Citak will speak at the sister-
hood's Torah Fund Brunch, 11 a.m.
Sunday, Nov. 16. Adat Shalom

honored.
Those who con-
tribute $150 or
more will receive
the 5758 Torah
Fund pin and, with
additional payment
Audrey Citak
for the meal, will
be able to attend
the community's annual Seminary
dinner. Advance reservations are

Sisterhood-will have dinner, board
meeting and a special Women's
League Training Seminar conducted
by Ms. Citak, 5:45 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 18. The focus of this seminar
will be communication dynamics,
creativity development, and sister-
hood image.
