of Miami Beach, Fla., died Oct. 23. She
earned her bachelor, master and doctor-
ate degrees at Wayne State University.
She was the director of the GED testing
program in Detroit until her retirement.
She is survived by her sister,
Gertrude Rubin; nieces, Barbara
(Lawrence) Cantor, and Wendy
(Richard) Lapidus; nephews, Dr.
Donald R. Klein (Eileen), Dr. Robert
Rubin (Kristine) and John Rubin
(Judy). She was the sister of the late
Ruth Klein.

DOROTHY NISKAR, 80, of
Southfield, died Nov. 1.
She is survived by her husband,
William Niskar; sons and daughters-in-
law, Ds. Robert and Arlene Niskar of
Farmington Hills, Allan and Regina
Niskar of Plantation, Fla., brother,
Herman Freiman of Orlando, Fla.;
grandchildren, Howard (Tracey) Niskar,
Audrey (Dr. Brian) Seifman, Joey, Jaime
and Rachel Niskar; great-grandchildren,
Jessica and Samantha Niskar.
Graveside services were held at the
Hebrew Memorial Park Cemetery in
Mt. Clemens. Contributions may be

LENORE SCHIFF, 64, of Rancho

Mirage, Calif, formerly of Detroit,
died Nov. 4. Mrs. Schiff was a mem-
ber of Hadassah, Women's American
ORT, B'nai B'rith and a former
member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
She is survived by her husband,
Dr. Arthur Schiff; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Brian and Chana Schiff of
Oak. Park, Cary and Barbara Schiff of
Lincolnwood, Ill.; daughter and son-
in-law, Elizabeth and David Barash of
Forest Hills, N.Y.; grandchildren,
Aaron, Ari and Marissa Schiff; broth-
er and sister-in-law, Allen and Ruth
Rosenfeld of West Bloomfield.

Jonathan and Jeffrey Starkman.

BETTY B. STEARN, 90, of Oak

Park, died Oct. 31.
She is survived by her son, Donald

sister-in-law, Oscar and Toots Skopitz

Dorothy Goldberg of Oak Park.

PEARL KANDEL WEINGARTEN,

97, of Bloomfield, died Nov. 1. Mrs.
Weingarten was a member of Young
Women's Bicur Cholem and a member
of Adat Shalom Synagogue.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Rona and Cyril Moscow of
Bloomfield; daughter-in-law, Nancy
Weingarten; grandchildren, Daniel
Moscow, Ruth Moscow-Cohen and
Robert Cohen, Karen Moscow
Auerbach and Andrew Auerbach, Ann
and Jerome Rock, James Weingarten;
great-grandchildren, Meredith and
Michael Rock, Anna and Tamar
Moscow Cohen. Mrs. Weingarten was
the beloved wife of the late Harry
Weingarten and the loving mother of
the late Herbert N. Weingarten.
Interment at Adat Shalom
