Amanda Carin Shuster will observe
her bat mitzvah at Havdalah ser-
vices on Saturday, Nov. 1, at
Temple Israel. She
is the daughter of
Rhonda and Dr.
Jeffrey Shuster, sis-
ter of Daniel and
grandchild of
Shirley and
Sanford Green
and Renee and
David Shuster.
She assisted at the Holocaust
Memorial Center and the Temple
Israel religious school office as part
of her mitzvah projects. A student at
West Hills Middle School, Amanda
is interested in drama, dance, foren-
sics., reading and writing.

Eric Henry Mandel will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Nov. 1. He is the son of
Karin and Kenneth

Mitzvah projects included donat-
ing to the ASPCA. Eric is a student
at Abbott Middle School and
enjoys aggressive rollerblading, golf

Emily Beth Katz will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 1, at Temple Kol Ami.
Participating in the ceremony will be
Emily's parents, Andrea and Bruce;
her sister Carly; her grandmother
Lallore Stone and
her grandparents
Donald and
Bernice Katz.
Emily also is the
granddaughter of
the late Sol P.
Stone.
Emily is an
honor student at Warner Middle
School. Her interest include, music,
dance, travel and computers.
Her mitzvah projects included vol-
unteering time at Yad Ezra and
babysitting for Temple Kol Ami dur-
ing the High Holy services.

Samantha Letvin
Samantha Daisy Letvin will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 1, at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter of Dee and
Thomas Letvin, sister of Abbie and
grandchild of Betty Letvin, Helen
White, Claude
White and the late
Abe Letvin.
For her Mitzvah
projects,
Samantha
enjoyed assisting
in the Temple
Israel school
office, working on a clothing drive,
and she will be volunteering when
Temple Israel houses the homeless;
she also donated to the Holocaust
Memorial Center. Attending Muir
Middle School in Milford where she
plays in the band, Samantha likes
reading and the computer, biking
and being outdoors.

Ilana Claire Goldberg will cele-
brate her bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 1, at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Ilana is the
daughter of
Miriam and Mark
Goldberg, the sis-
ter of Joshua, and
the grandchild of
Ann and Leonard
Baruch, Audrey
and Mel Goldberg, and the late
Claire Lee Goldberg.
Ilana is an honor student at Hillel
Day School. She enjoys singing,
acting, and is on the girls' tennis
team.
In honor of her bat mitzvah, liana
will contribute to Yad Ezra and
ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem.

Daniel Kahn
Daniel Benjamin Kahn will become
a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 1,
at Shaarey Zedek
B'nai Israel
Center. He is the
son of Dr. Joel
and Karen Kahn
and brother of
Jacob and Jessica.
He is the grand-
son of Ruth and
Irwin Kahn and of Gloria and Dr.
Arthur Fischer. He also is the grand-
son of the late Patricia Fischer.
Daniel will travel to Israel next
summer with his family. He attends
West Hills Middle School and
enjoys music, basketball, fishing
and golf.
