The bond between mothers and daugh-
ters will be explored by Lila Lazarus
and Evelyn Orbach at the Jewish
Federation Business and Professional
Women meeting, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 18, at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
Registration begins at 6 p.m.
Mothers and daughters (adult children
only) are invited. There is a $25 charge
for the kosher dinner and program.

Election, Award

Robert H. Naftaly was elected presi-
dent for a third term of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit at
its 71st annual meeting at
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses.
The 47th Fred M. Butzel Memorial
Award for distinguished community
service was presented to Mark E.
Schlussel, a past Federation president.
Communal leader and philan-
thropist William Davidson was recog-
nized for his generosity in establishing
a community center in the Neot
Shazar neighborhood of Federation's
Project Renewal community of Yavne.
Elected with Nr. Naftaly were: Peter
M. Alter, Penny B. Blumenstein,
Doreen Hermelin, Lawrence S.
Jackier, Diane Klein and Jerome L.
Schostak, vice presidents; Allan
Nachman, treasurer; Linda Z. Klein,
secretary; and Robert P. Aronson,
executive secretary.
Named for a two-year term to the
Federation Board of Governors were:
Irwin Alterman, Pearlena Bodzin,
Marvin I. Danto, Dr. Mark L. Diem,
Phillip Wm. Fisher, Jerome L.
