Community Page Magazine Editor Slates Talk Ms. Magazine editor and feminist organizer Gloria Steinem will be the guest speaker at VOICES '98, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek. The event is sponsored by Business and Professional Women of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit on behalf of the 1998 Women's Allied Jewish Campaign. A writer, editor, lecturer and orga- nizer, Ms. Steinem helped found and serves as a board member for Ms. Foundation for Women, National Women's Political Caucus, Voters for Choice, Women's Action Alliance and the Coalition of Labor Union Women. She has written and raised funds for many political campaigns. Gloria Steinem Admission to VOICES '98 is $25 with a minimum $150 pledge to the 1998 Women's Allied Jewish Campaign. Federation Forum Hosts Ford William Clay Ford Jr., chairman of the Finance Committee of Ford Motor Company, will be the guest speaker at the next Federation Forum, noon Monday, Nov. 24, at the Radisson Hotel, Southfield. The Federation Forum is spon- sored by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit to promote an interest in Federation activities and enlighten its participants on impor- tant political, economic and social issues. A member of the company's board of directors and chair of its environmental and public policy committee, Mr. Ford joined the William Clay company as a product planning Fora' Jr. analyst. He later moved to the Automotive Assembly Division and worked on the launch of the Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx. He chairs the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Board of Trustees and is a trustee of the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit Renaissance and Conservation International and vice- chairman of the Greater Downtown (Detroit) Partnership Board of Directors.
