West Bloomfield, died Oct. 26. Mrs.
Newman was a teacher in Oak Park.
She was an Ohio State University grad-
uate, a member of Women's American`.'

Mrs. Newman is survived by her
husband of 40 years, Robert Newman;
sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and
Barbara Newman of North Barrington,
Ill., David Newman of Chicago;
daughter, Nancy Newman of Chicago; -
grandchildren, Hannah and Sam
Newman; sister and brother-in-law,
Brenda and Dr. Herman Schiff of
West Bloomfield. Interment at Clover
Hill Park Cemetery Contributions

LILLIAN PORTMAN, 85, of Ann
Arbor, died Oct. 26. Mrs. Portman
was a men's furnishings executive and a
member of Women's American ORT
and TOPS.
She is survived by her daughters and
sons-in-law, Myrna and Newell Miller,
Susan and Paul Bender; grandchildren,
Todd and Elaine Miller of Ann Arbor,
Eric and Nancy Miller, Beth Miller,
Marc Soble and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Portman was the beloved wife of
the late James Portman.
Interment at Waldheim Cemetery

She is survived by her daughter and

Gitre; great-grandchildren, Grant and
Rachel Gitre and Alex Clark; sister,
Mabel Patton of Newport Richey, Fla.
Mrs. Raub was the beloved wife of the
late Paul Raub and the dear sister of
the late Murray Roth.
