German Company
Jerusalem (JPFS) — Tecnomatix
Technologies Ltd., a Herzliya-based
developer of computer software used
in the making of cars, airplanes, and
devices for heavy industry,
,announced that it acquired AESOP
Angewandte EDV-Systeme fur
Optimierung, a private company
based in Stuttgart, Germany, for
$9.1 million.
AESOP develops and markets sim-
ulation software designed for manu-
facturing plants.
The acquisition will help
Tecnomatix to break into the
advanced planning and scheduling
market, Beit-On said.
The acquisition is expected to result
in a one-time write-off for in-process
R&D of approximately $7-8 million.
The charge will be recorded in the
fourth quarter.
Tecnomatix's computer-aided pro-
duction engineering software products
low the creation of virtual machines
and production of equipment models,
which can be interactively arranged
into a virtual manufacturing line, and
manipulated to perform on-screen

Claridge Completes
'Koor Takeover
Jerusalem (JPFS) — The Claridge
group's holdings in Koor Industries
would reach about 37 percent after
swapping its stake in ECI Telecom in
return for Koor shares, Claridge
President Jonathan Kolber told a press
conference.
The meeting marked the group's
cCmpletion of the purchasing of the
control stake in Israel's largest holding
company. Claridge now holds 25 per-
, cent of Koor, including the stake it
bought from Shamrock Holdings and
additional shares bought on the mar-
ket.
Kolber said the group might buy a
few more percent of Koor shares, but
denied rumors that it was negotiating
with Bank Leumi for the purchase of
zthe bank's stake in Koor.
Earlier, the two companies said
they were considering a swap of
Koor shares in exchange for
C'Asidge's 10.4 percent stake in ECI.
Koor's CEO Benny Gaon added that
Koor is now interested in raising its
stake in ECI.
