As part of his mitzvah projects, he volunteered at a shelter for abused women and children and assisted at a birthday party for the residents. Jordan Cohen Jordan Frederick Cohen will observe his bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Temple Israel. He is the son of Janice and Larry Cohen, brother of Aaron and grandson of Mae and Joseph Cohen and Rose and George Cooper. His mitzvah project involved playing the piano for Fleischman residents. He is the son of Debra and Ira Saperstein, broth- er of Jared, Andrew and Brent and grand- child of Ida Saperstein and the late David "Toots" Saperstein and the late Josephine and Henry Lasky. Working with emotionally and developmentally disabled children was part of his mitzvah project. Joey is a student at Dunckel Middle School and enjoys the computer, rollerblading, basketball and hockey. He will be reading C-
