Israel Study Set For Spring The Interfaith Connection and Kitchen Glamor will present 'A Taste of Tradition: Adding a Jewish Flavor To Your Winter Meals" 6:45-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Kitchen Glamor in West Bloomfield. The pro- gram will introduce couples of inter- faith relationships to traditional Chanukah and other Jewish recipes. Mimi Markovsky, owner of Mimi's Just Desserts and manager of Sperber's Kosher Catering, will share her recipes and provide a cooking demonstration and tasting. There will also be a raffle for gift certificates to Kitchen Glamor. A Taste of Tradition is free of charge. Project Discovery, the semester-in- Israel program for high school stu- dents, is taking enrollment for spring. An information meeting about the program, which is open to 10th and 11th graders, will take place 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Max M. Fisher Federation Building, 6735 Telegraph. Bloomfield Hills. Participants in Project Discovery continue their regular high school cur- riculum, combined with study of Hebrew, Israel and Jerusalem. There also are tours throughout Israel and an opportunity to stay three weeks with an Israeli host family. Hiking, camel rides, an archeological dig, boating down the Jordan River and visits to government buildings and Jewish sites are included. Cost of the program is $6,500 plus airfare. A $2,000 subsidy is provided by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit for each partici- pant. Students in the program receive full high school credit. Application deadline is Monday, Dec. 1.
