Judicial Seminar Hosts Discussion The Detroit Judicial Seminar will next meet 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the Riverside Conference Room 700A. The topic, led by Rabbi Herschel Finman, will be "Oklahoma vs. Edward Allen, the Dunham Rule and Jewish Law." Cost for the lunch is $10. Jewish Historian Discusses Israel The Birmingham Temple will pre- sent Yehuda Bauer, Jewish historian, who will discuss "Israel: War and Peace" 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the temple. Member cost, $4, non- member cost, $6. Yehuda Bauer served for many years as a professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He organized both the Institute for the Study of Contemporary History and the Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism. He is the author of many books, including Jews For Sale. Tikvah Hosts New Shlichah Yael Waxman, community shlichah and director of Jewish Federation's Michigan/Israel Connection, will be Tikvah's guest speaker 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Michele Kleiman's home. The presentation will be on "How Can A Newspaper Be Fair To All Readers." Mr. Silverman will respond to ques- tions from the audience. The program is open to the public and there is no admission charge. The American Arabic and Jewish Friends, a program of the Greater Detroit Interfaith Roundtable of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, is an organization founded with the mission to improve understanding and friendship between the Arab and Jewish communities.
