Although Friedman's heyday of
buying foreclosed properties, or man-
_cging or selling them for lending insti-
tutions are over, Friedman is nonethe-
less still selling a lot of land. It is a safe
call that Friedman will probably be
getting involved with some new devel-
opments on his own.
Friedman got his start through his
father's business, Morris Friedman and
Sons Plumbing and Heating, which
I was based in Hazel Park. "I was
±avolved in warehousing plumbing
supplies and delivering them to all the
(building) sites for many years. I knew
the business. I knew who the builders
and developers were. It was something
LT always wanted to get involved with.
"I didn't want to be a plumber. My
dad shut the company down and told
my brother and I, 'You guys can't be
plumbers, go be the other side."'
His older brother, Steven, 41, is
vice president of the Selective Group,
Farmington Hills-based residential
builders.
