COJES Tours
Raise Funds

The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit has begun a
new program to raise awareness and
support for programs and services
benefiting Jewish older adults in the
community.
Called COJES Tours: An inside
View of Services to the Jewish
Elderly, the program will take
prospective donors in small groups
to view programs in progress at
Jewish Federation agencies. The goal
of the program is to raise funds for
senior adult services as well as the
Jewish Community Trust for the
Elderly.
The program is named for the
Commission on Jewish Eldercare
Services, which plans and coordi-
nates services to Jewish older adults
living at home, in skilled nursing
facilities and assisted living resi-
dences throughout the community.
COJES works with all agencies of
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit that provide
services to older adults. It also is the
Federation's primary liaison between
Federation constituent agencies and
other non-Federation and govern-
mental organizations serving older
adults.
The tours will take place twice
a month: one to the agencies located
in Oak Park, the other to those in
West Bloomfield. Among the pro-
grams guests will view are JVS
Senior Adult Workshop, Jimmy
Prentis Morris Jewish Community
Center activities, Margot and Warren
Coville Apartments (formerly
Group Apartments for the Elderly
Program) of Jewish Family Service,
the Marvin and Betty Danto
Health Care Center, Fleischman
