Stearns is the former managing
editor of Detroit Monthly magazine,

Shabbat
Play Group

"Shabbat Shelanu (Our Shabbat),"
Congregation B'nai Moshe's Shabbat
morning play group for children age
2-1/2 through 4, is a complimentary,
drop-in program which allows par-
' ents to participate in worship ser-
vices while their young children
enjoy Shabbat-approriate games and
other play activities under the super-
vision of teacher Paula Schane-
Koscik.
Shabbat Shelanu runs from 10 -
11:30 a.m., at which time the chil-
i dren are brought into the main sanc-
tuary to join the congregation for the
last few minutes of the service,
including kiddush and closing songs.
No reservatons are necessary.
Children younger than 2-1/2 are
-Dalso welcome to participate in
Shabbat Shelanu if accompanied by a
parent, grandparent, or other adult.

which serves Jewish youth sixth
through eighth grades in the Ann
Arbor area, is holding a Haunted
Hayride and Bonfire 7:30 - 10:45
p.m., Oct. 4, at Wiard's Orchard and
Cider Mill in Ypsilanti. The admis-
sion fee is $15 for members and $19
