Professor Moshe Rosman, Padnos vis-
iting professor of Judaic studies in the
history department at the University
of Michigan at Ann Arbor, has been
named Deutsch Family Visiting
Scholar in Jewish History at
Congregation B'nai Moshe for the fall
academic semester. Professor Rosman
will deliver two four-part lecture series
at the synagogue on Monday nights
beginning 8-9 p.m. Oct. 13.
Interested adult learners are welcome
to register for one or both series or for
individual lectures. There is a charge.
Professor Rosman will present a
series titled "Jewish History Revised."
Each session will focus on a different
episode in Jewish history, explain the
various controversies surrounding it,
and summarize current scholarly
thinking on that historical event.

10, Professor
Rosman will

ond series titled
"Written Back
Into The Story:
Women in
Jewish
History."
Tuition is $28
for each four-

members of B'nai Moshe). Advance
registration is encouraged.
In addition, Professor Rosman will
lead a Yom Iyun (day of learning) at
B'nai Moshe on Saturday, Dec. 13, on
"How To Run A Jewish Community:
The Case of Poland."

Chabad Hosts
Benefit Concert

Dr. Linda Bolton, pediatrician and
activist, will be honored by Chabad's
Children of Chernobyl, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 19, at a benefit concert
at West Bloomfield High School fea-
turing Jewish recording artist Avraham
Fried.
In addition to her work for CCOC,
Dr. Bolton traveled to the former
Soviet Union in 1988 where she visit-
ed with Refuseniks and provided med-
ical care for their families. She also vis-

ited Kfar
Chabad in Israel
where the chil-
dren of
Chernobyl reside
while undergo-
ing treatment
and awaiting the
arrival of their
parents. Dr.

dent elect of the
Metro Detroit Chapter of the Juven:-.7„
