CHANCES ARE the new restau- rant opening in the Robins Nest shop- ping center, on Orchard Lake Road off 14 Mile, may be Ristorante di Venezia ... Restaurateur Tom Timmons has Cafe Venezia on 11 Mile and Middlebelt, which may remain at that spot ... The Robins Nest site is the former locale of Sultan's and Steve's Back Room. AN UNFORTUNATE lunch expe- rience while in Atlanta was at a place called Alpha Soda Family Restaurant in Alpharetta ... formerly a drug store 1 and soda fountain which never should have changed over ... Especially the soda fountain which, we're told, was pretty good. Thankfully, - after leaving there, we 100 went shopping at Harry's market and hungrily enjoyed the walk-around lunch ... with samples being given at almost every turn. I'm always impressed with Harry's because of the huge displays of foods from around the world, with food things that cannot be found anywhere else. - Most impressive, though, are the 00 employees with their hair covered...Beards and goatees, too ... All wear plastic gloves, and the fish department closes twice daily for 15 I minutes each time so the counters can be cleaned to assure utmost sani- tation. We were with Steve and Brenda Zuckerman at Dominick's on South Peachtree Street in Norcross, another AO Atlanta suburb, and for Italian food, the 104-year-old building was impres- sive. Honto Restaurant in the Atlanta suburb of Chamblee is a true Chinese dining adventure ... It has a menu written for American customers and another for the many Chinese diners who frequent the place ... If it takes a 110 trip to Atlanta to get some of those Oriental dishes not discovered else- where, so be it. ❑
