A student at Orchard Lake Middle School, Carmi is interested in sports: rollerblading, snowboarding, soc- cer, basketball and hockey. /- Andrew Rubens Andrew Charles Rubens will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Friday, Sept. 26, at Temple Israel. He is the son of Judith Rubens- Burdick and James Burdick and the late Dr. Mark Rubens, brother of Laura and grandchild of Richard and Lois Hamburger, Eileen and Ben Rubens and Mary Burdick. His proud great-grandmothers are Ethel Hamburger and Sylvia Robinson. He donated toys to underprivi- leged children and assisted with the Conant Elementary School Fair as part of his mitzvah projects. A stu- dent at Bloomfield Hills Middle School, Andy is interested in golf, tennis, swimming and hockey as well as world cultures. Carmi Giora Katsir will celebrate his bar mitzvah and Temple Israel on Saturday, Sept. 27. He is the son of Dr. Daniella Saltz and Dan Katsir, brother of Karen and Hailly, and grandson of Esther Kovacs and Elinor Saltz and the late Yitzhak Kovacs and the late Leo Saltz.
