Hills was recently bar mitzvah at
Congregation Beit Kodesh. Rabbi
Craig Allen led the services.
Matthew is the son of Darlene and
Kenneth Combs and brother of
Sarah.
Participating in the service were
his parents; Papa Tommy Salmons;
uncles Steven Salmons, Elliott
Scherman; Sunday school teacher
Nathan Fine and dear friend Al
Shapiro.
Matthew's tallit and kippah were
his great-grandfather's, presented to
him by Nana Ilene Salmons.

Erin King
Erin Belle King of Troy will cele-
brate her bat mitzvah.at
Congregation Shir Tikvah on
Saturday, Sept. 20. She is the
daughter of Diane and Morris King,
sister of Jeremy and Jaime and
grandchild of Alice and William
Rosen, Wanda King and the late
Wesley King.
Erin's mitzvah projects included
working as an assistant at
Congregation Shir Tikvah's family
educational program. She also
worked during the summer on a
small farm, feeding and grooming
horses. An honor roll student at
Baker Middle School, Erin is on the
cheerleading team and enjoys
baseball and camping.

Joseph Edelman
Joseph Alan Edelman, son of
Edward F. Edelman and Steffi
Edelman, and sister of Neeley,
became bar mitzvah Saturday,
Sept. 13, at Temple Shir Shalom.
He is the grandson of Irving and
Izzy Korens and Gertrude, and the
late Nathan Edelman.
Joseph attends Highland Middle
Schools.

Michelle Rubinlicht
Michelle Rubinlicht will become a
bat mitzvah on Saturday, Sept. 20,
at Adat Shalom Synagogue. She is
the daughter of Rose and Albert
Rubinlicht and sister of Rachel.
Proud grandparents are Leo and
Olga Grossman.
Michelle is an eighth-grade hon-
ors student at Orchard Lake Middle
School. She enjoys playing the flute.
in the school symphony band,
singing and roller blading.
