Rachel Bocknek
Rachel Mae Bocknek will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Temple
Israel. She is the daughter of Linda
and Craig Bocknek, sister of
Hillary, and grandchild of Madeline
and Bernard Bocknek and Lena
and Ralph New.
Donations to the Holocaust
Memorial Center are part of her
mitzvah project. Rachel is a student
at Clifford Smart School and enjoys
reading and the computer. She is
proud to be the first child in the
Bocknek family to celebrate a bat
mitzvah.

Samantha Gurwin
Samantha Rose Gurwin will
observe her bat mitzvah at
Havdalah services at Temple Israel
on Saturday, Sept. 20. She is the
daughter of Jody Bennett and grand-
child of Lenore and Gerald Gurwin.
Working with seniors at the
Fleischman Residence and assisting
in the Temple Israel office were
some of her mitzvah projects.
Samantha attends Warner Middle
School and is interested in softball
and swimming; she loves camp.

Zachary Colman
Zachary David Colman will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday, Sept. 20, at
Temple Kol Ami. Zack is the son of
Marcy and Martin Rosenfeld and
Jonathan and Suzi Colman. He is
the brother of Jessica Colman, Josh
Rosenfeld, Sandy Ferber and Jeff
Ferber.
Zack is an honor student at
Warner Middle School where he
plays percussion in the school
band. He plays tennis and basket-
ball and is an avid skier and
camper. Zack also collects comics
and fossils.
Zack's grandparents will join him
on this special occasion. They are:
Florence and Al Tucker, Harriet and
Albert Colman, Lillian and Bernie
Friedman and Teri and Zoltan Beer.
For his miizvah projects, Zack vol-
unteers his volunteers his time help-
ing to create birthday parties for
children in homeless shelters.
