AMANDA FOSTER,
10 YEARS OLD
It's that time o
year again.
The kids may be away,
but you can always keep
them close to your heart
with charming designs by

y granddaughter, Amanda
Foster, is 10 years old.
One of her teachers
recently wrote her a letter in which
she said, "You are truly beautiful,
inside and out, and you will always
be very close and dear to my
heart." As you can see, she rates
with all those who know her.
As her grandmother, I am able to
observe her warmth and considera-
tion. She never fails to say "I love
you" with every phone call or visit.
Amanda was diagnosed five
years ago with juvenile diabetes,
and we all are proud of her as she
cares properly for herself with her
two insulin injections each day, her
diet and exercise, and many daily
pricks of her fingers to test her
all this with no com-
blood sugar
plaint!
She is an excellent student and
attends Hebrew school, as well.
This summer, she raised $50 for
juvenile diabetes by making string
bracelets and necklaces.
When we ask Amanda what she
will choose to do when she is
grown, she states: "I'd like to be a
singing, dancing pediatrician" so
that she might be helpful to others.
