a scholarship
to attend
Interlochen
Arts Academy
for the 1997-
98 academic
year. Lewis, a
violinist, pre-
viously
attended Berkley High School, where
he was an honors student and con-
certmaster of the symphony orches-
tra. He was also concertmaster of the
Oakland Youth Orchestra and a first
violinist in the Michigan Youth
Symphony Orchestra at University of
Michigan.

Dinghy Sharp
was presented
with the
Tikkun Olam
Award for
Literacy at the
r ' recent annual
meeting of
Women's
American
ORT. Dr.
Sharp, a resident of Commerce
Township, has long been recognized
as a leader in efforts to promote liter-
acy and respond to children with spe-
cial needs. She is the founder of the
Fairview Preschool, one of the first
r _Dpublic preschools in Michigan,
among other outstanding projects.
