t the Jewish Community
Council's social action work-
shop last Sunday, local resi-
dents learned how to plan
effective programming.
The 90-minute workshop at the
'[ax M. Fisher Building featured pre-
entations from two area congrega-
tions.
Adat Shalom's social action com-
mittee spent the past year working
with the problem of homelessness, and
J.:triple Beth-El worked on
multiple programs.
The focus was on how
social action committees can
plan programming, and how
"ommittees can get started or
grow in the upcoming year.
"The program went amaz-
ingly well," said Beverly Yost,
community liaison at the
J ewish Community Council
and staff support to the pro-
grams' creators: Jan Helper,
arlena Bodzin and Susie
Leemaster. "It was a very
practical program that gave
specific examples from spe-
cific programs."
